`Recova Wound Healing Vitamins
Research-Backed Supplements to Support Faster Wound Healing`
Recova is a wound healing vitamin and recovery supplement formulated with scientifically researched active ingredients to support all four stages of the wound healing process, from hemostasis and the reduction of inflammation, pain, and swelling to the formation of new cells and tissues, collagen synthesis, and wound tissue remodeling.
-
Bird Nest Extract – Premium Bird’s Nest Extract Meeting Japanese Quality Standards: Helps accelerate wound healing within 24 hours, as demonstrated by a Scratch Test simulating wounds in human skin cells (Human Keratinocytes). Human clinical studies have also shown that Bird Nest Extract helps increase collagen levels in the skin and reduce transepidermal water loss, potentially relieving dryness and tightness around wounds while supporting faster wound recovery. [1], [2]
-
Bromelain – A Natural Enzyme Derived from Pineapple: Clinical research found that taking 500 mg of Bromelain daily (equivalent to 2 capsules of Recova) for 10 days following surgery reduced pain scores by up to 46.7% and decreased analgesic use by 39.4%.[3]
Key Active Ingredients in Recova Wound Healing Supplement
Recova is formulated with carefully selected, research-backed active ingredients that support new cell and tissue formation, collagen synthesis, and the reduction of inflammation, pain, and swelling during the early stages of wound healing. This makes Recova a suitable wound healing supplement, post-surgery recovery supplement, and cosmetic surgery supplement to support continuous wound recovery throughout the healing process.
Bird Nest Extract
Premium Bird Nest Extract manufactured to Japanese quality standards contains key bioactive compounds, including EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor), which plays an important role in skin regeneration and wound healing at the cellular level. It helps stimulate new tissue formation and skin cell proliferation, reduce inflammation, redness, and swelling, promote collagen synthesis, and potentially minimize scar formation.
In a Scratch Test simulating wounds in human skin cells (Human Keratinocytes), Bird Nest Extract was found to promote cell proliferation and migration, resulting in faster wound closure within 24 hours.
Furthermore, a human clinical study found that daily supplementation with 70 mg of Bird Nest Extract for 30 consecutive days increased skin collagen levels by 18% and reduced transepidermal water loss (TEWL) by up to 30%. These findings suggest improved skin moisture retention and reduced dryness, which may help relieve dryness and tightness around the wound area. [1], [2]
Bromelain
Bromelain is a natural enzyme derived from pineapple that has been studied for its potential benefits in post-surgical recovery. It helps manage inflammation, pain, and swelling while reducing fluid accumulation in tissues, which may help alleviate post-operative swelling and discomfort.
In a clinical study involving surgical patients who received 500 mg of Bromelain daily for 10 consecutive days, pain scores decreased by 46.7%, while analgesic use was reduced by 39.4%. Importantly, the study found no evidence of an increased risk of post-operative bleeding. [3]
Other Vitamins and Minerals in Recova,
Pre-Surgery Vitamins and Post-Surgery Swelling Relief Supplements for Wound Recovery
In addition to its key active ingredients, Bird Nest Extract and Bromelain, Recova is enriched with essential vitamins and minerals that support the body’s natural wound healing process, including cell division, collagen synthesis, new tissue formation, and immune function to help reduce the risk of infection.
These nutrients help provide the body with essential nutritional support for recovery before and after surgery or cosmetic procedures. Recova is therefore suitable for individuals looking for pre-surgery vitamins, pre-operative supplements, or pre-procedure vitamins, as well as those seeking post-surgery swelling relief supplements and wound recovery vitamins during the healing period.
Zinc Bisglycinate
Zinc is an essential mineral that plays a crucial role in the wound healing process, particularly in cell division, protein synthesis, new tissue formation, and skin regeneration at the wound site. Zinc deficiency may delay tissue repair and wound closure. Recova contains Zinc Bisglycinate, a highly bioavailable form of zinc that is readily absorbed by the body, helping ensure an adequate zinc supply to support wound healing and recovery. [4]
Sodium L-Ascorbate
This form of Vitamin C is gentle on the stomach and helps maintain the strength of capillary blood vessels. It also acts as an essential cofactor for collagen synthesis. Following surgery, cosmetic procedures, or skin injuries, the body’s demand for Vitamin C increases to support collagen production and tissue repair. Inadequate Vitamin C intake may lead to increased capillary fragility and delayed wound healing. [5]
Vitamin D3
Vitamin D helps regulate inflammation and supports immune system function by stimulating the production of antimicrobial peptides, which play a role in protecting wounds against infection. Additionally, Vitamin D contributes to skin cell function and the formation of new skin tissue. Research has shown that low Vitamin D levels are associated with delayed wound healing and an increased risk of chronic wounds. [6]
Recova, A Wound Healing Supplement That Supports All 4 Stages of the Wound Healing Process for Complete Recovery
When a wound occurs, healing does not happen all at once. Instead, it is a continuous process consisting of four key stages that gradually allow the wound to close and regain its strength. Recova is a wound healing supplement formulated to support the body’s natural healing process, from the initial stages of wound healing to new tissue formation and wound tissue remodeling, helping promote effective wound recovery. [7]
Stage 1: Hemostasis
Hemostasis begins immediately after an injury occurs. The body activates platelets to aggregate at the wound site and initiates the blood clotting process, forming fibrin (protein fibers that help stabilize blood clots). This helps seal damaged blood vessels and temporarily stop bleeding, preparing the wound for the next stage of healing.
Stage 2: Inflammation
The inflammatory phase typically occurs during the first 1–3 days after an injury. During this stage, the body sends immune cells, particularly white blood cells, to the wound site to eliminate pathogens, foreign particles, and damaged cells. This natural immune response may cause pain, swelling, redness, and warmth around the wound.
Stage 3: Proliferation
As inflammation begins to subside, the body enters the tissue regeneration phase. New collagen and blood vessels are formed to supply oxygen and nutrients to the wound area. At the same time, new skin cells gradually migrate across the wound surface, helping the wound close and supporting tissue recovery.
Stage 4: Remodeling
Even after the wound has closed, the healing process continues. The body gradually reorganizes and strengthens newly formed collagen fibers to improve the structural integrity of the repaired tissue. Proper collagen remodeling contributes to scar maturation and wound strength, although it does not necessarily prevent hypertrophic scars or keloids. This stage may take several weeks to months.
`Can Recova be taken together with pain medications prescribed by a doctor after surgery or cosmetic procedures?`
In general, pain medications prescribed after surgery or cosmetic procedures are taken as needed or according to the doctor’s instructions. Recova, on the other hand, is a nutritional supplement designed to support wound healing before and after surgery, cosmetic surgery, and medical procedures. It is recommended for use before surgery and throughout the recovery period to support all four stages of wound healing while helping manage post-operative pain and swelling.
Recova may be taken alongside certain prescribed pain medications. However, individuals taking medications that affect blood clotting or platelet function should consult their doctor or pharmacist before use.

A: It is recommended to start taking Recova 1–2 weeks before surgery and continue throughout the post-operative recovery period until the wound has fully healed. The recommended duration depends on the size and nature of the wound. However, you should consult your doctor or surgeon before starting supplementation.
-
Minor cosmetic procedures, such as Pico Laser and Microneedling: These procedures typically cause small, superficial wounds with minimal skin damage. It is recommended to continue taking Recova for at least 2–4 weeks (1–2 bottles) or until the skin has fully healed.
-
Minor surgical procedures, such as double eyelid surgery and wisdom tooth extraction: These procedures generally involve smaller wounds with limited damage to underlying tissues. It is recommended to continue taking Recova for at least 1–3 months (2–6 bottles) or until the wound has fully healed.
-
Major surgical procedures or deep surgical wounds, such as breast augmentation, facelifts, open rhinoplasty, and cheekbone reduction surgery: These procedures involve larger wounds and deeper tissue manipulation, often requiring a longer recovery period. It is recommended to continue taking Recova for at least 3–6 months or longer (6–12 bottles or more), depending on the healing process, or until the wound has fully healed. Recova is not recommended for post-cesarean section wounds.
A: Recova contains nutrients that support collagen synthesis and the natural wound healing process. The formation of raised scars, including hypertrophic scars and keloids, depends on several factors, one of which is abnormal collagen production and organization during wound healing.
Although Recova provides nutritional support for tissue repair and collagen formation, its ability to directly prevent hypertrophic scars or keloids has not been clinically established.
For better scar management, applying silicone gel or silicone sheets after the wound has completely closed is also recommended.
A: Recova is not currently recommended for women recovering from a cesarean section who are breastfeeding, as there is insufficient research on the safety of its ingredients for infants exposed through breast milk.
